Terms & Conditions

This website is owned and operated by Matriarchy Pty Ltd (ABN 36 701 331 062) ("We", "Our" or "Us"). By joining a Matriarchy program, gathering, or event, you agree to the terms below. Please also read our Community Agreement, which outlines the values and conduct we ask all members to uphold.

We reserve the right not to sell tickets to any person, agent or company.

We reserve the right to add, withdraw, reschedule or substitute guest speakers and/or vary programs, prices, venues, seating arrangements and participant capacity.

All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars and include local taxes (GST).

1. Assumption of Risk

Our programs are held outdoors, often in nature reserves, and may include physical movement, uneven terrain, and exposure to weather and natural elements. By participating, you acknowledge that outdoor activity carries some inherent risk, and you choose to take part at your own risk.

If you have any medical conditions, injuries, or concerns that might affect your (or your child's) participation, please let us know before the program begins so we can make reasonable adjustments where possible.

2. Children & Supervision

Children are welcome at our gatherings. Parents and carers remain fully responsible for the supervision and safety of their own children at all times, including during any nature-based activities we provide.

3. Photo & Media Consent

By attending, you consent to being photographed or filmed during sessions, and to that content being used for Matriarchy's marketing and community-building purposes.

Children's faces will not be shown on our social media. Where children are included in photos or videos we will ensure their faces are not visible or are otherwise obscured.

If you would prefer not to be photographed yourself, let us know before the session and we'll ensure you're kept out of shot.

4. Payment, Cancellations & Refunds

Payment for your 8-week program is required to secure your place, unless otherwise agreed with us directly.

Cancellations by you: there are no refunds, credits or exchanges on any sessions except as required by law.

Cancellations by us: if we need to cancel or reschedule a session, we'll notify you as early as possible and offer a make-up session or partial refund where appropriate.

Missed individual sessions within the 8 weeks are not refundable.

Any refund payable can only be made back to the credit card (whether temporary or otherwise) used in the original transaction.

The ability to reissue (change your name) or resell your session/s is at the discretion of Matriarchy Pty Ltd. Contact us to discuss your options.

5. Privacy

We collect basic personal information (such as your name, email, and any relevant medical or safety information you choose to share) to run our programs and communicate with you. We don't sell or share your information with third parties, and only use it for purposes connected to Matriarchy.

Please review our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

The content, curriculum, and materials shared as part of Matriarchy programs are created by us and are for personal use only. Please don't reproduce, teach, or distribute our program content without our permission.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time as Matriarchy grows. The most current version will always be available on our website.

8. Disclaimer and Liability

Save to the extent set out in the Competition and Consumer Act 2012 (Cth) (including the consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law) or otherwise permitted by law, We will not be liable for any damages — direct, incidental, consequential or otherwise — loss or corruption of data, loss of profits, goodwill, bargain or opportunity, or loss of anticipated savings resulting from your purchase of any programs or your access to, or use of, or inability to use the website and its content, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, statute or any other legal theory, and whether or not we know of the possibility of such damage.

9. Choice of Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of Queensland, Australia, but legal proceedings may be commenced in any Australian State or Territory.

10. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. Those consumer guarantees apply in addition to any other express warranties which we provide under these Terms and Conditions. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

11. Questions?

If anything here doesn't make sense, or you'd like more detail, reach out — we're always happy to talk it through.
