Matriarchy
Find your
village.
You were never meant to do life alone.
Matriarchy connects women within a 15-minute radius of each other — across every life stage — through an 8-week in-person guided program built to create genuine connection, support and community.
Be part of
something meaningful.
You're on the list.
Welcome to the village.
Hi, we're Matriarchy
Building the Village
We All Need
We started this because we noticed something: becoming mothers gave us mum friends, playgroups, a village of sorts — but it stopped there. Women without kids? Harder to connect with. Older women, holding decades of wisdom? Often on the outside. And our kids don't get the chance to see women together in their power, creating, resting, being present and conscious in what our bodies and minds need.
We wanted to change this.
We want every woman to have a community she can lean on through every season of life—the celebrations, the challenges, and everything in between. When women build genuine, supportive friendships, the benefits extend far beyond companionship. Meaningful connections are linked to better mental health, greater resilience, improved physical wellbeing, and a stronger sense of belonging.
Our vision is to create a community built on true sisterhood—where women champion one another instead of being in competition. We want to move beyond the divisions that so often pit women against each other: mothers versus child-free women, stay-at-home mums versus working mums, younger women versus older women and countless other labels that suggest there's only one "right" way to live.
We believe there isn't one path to a meaningful life—there are many. Every woman deserves the freedom to choose the path that is right for her and to be supported, celebrated, and held by other women, regardless of that choice.
You don't need more
on your to-do list.
You need a village.
Between family, work, relationships and the endless list of things that need to get done, it can be easy to lose yourself in the process. Many women are surrounded by people yet still feel isolated, overwhelmed or like they're carrying everything alone.
Matriarchy was created from a simple belief: women thrive when they are supported and truly seen.

The village you've been missing.
Our Why
Because women were never
meant to do life alone.
A bit about me — Tesh
"Women were never meant to do life alone."
I'm a mother to two beautiful girls, with a background in business, psychology, meditation and personal development. I'm also currently studying mindfulness and counselling.
Like many women, I know what it feels like to carry the invisible load of family, work and everyday life while quietly running on empty. During my second pregnancy, several health challenges forced me to slow down and truly prioritise my wellbeing.
Learning to lean on my own village changed everything. It reminded me how powerful it is to feel supported, understood and genuinely seen.
Through conversations with my sister and our shared experiences, the idea for Matriarchy began to take shape. A community where women can reconnect with themselves, build meaningful friendships and find the support they don't have to ask for alone.
Our mission is simple: to create the village so many women are missing — and to remind every woman that she was never meant to do life alone.
About Gim
Finding Our Way Back to Each Other
Hi, I'm Gim 👋
I'm a mum to a three-year-old, a lawyer by day, and — most days — a work in progress.
For years I was a people pleaser. Good at showing up for everyone else, less good at knowing who I was underneath. Becoming a mum cracked something open. It made me want to find my way back to myself — through play, rest, creativity and tapping into my intuition. It made me realise we aren't meant to do it alone and it's okay to be vulnerable and ask for help.
I help run a community nature playgroup with a group of local mums who inspire and support me more than they probably know. The ritual of meeting up weekly in a relaxed environment has helped me form relationships that are meaningful and deep.
Watching the neighbourhood kids play, I started noticing how much children already know about presence, joy and being unapologetically themselves. That's wisdom, not just childhood.
I've also been lucky enough to have my own village close by — my mum, mum in law, sister, aunty, grandma, close friends — all within reach. Not everyone has that. And I don't think women should miss out on that pivotal multigenerational support and connection that you can always count on.
That's why my sister and I created Matriarchy. Because our neighbourhood children have so much to teach us, maidens and mums are carrying the load and local older women hold decades of wisdom but are increasingly becoming isolated. Connection shouldn't be determined by life stages.
We want every woman to have a local Matriarchy she can lean on and support through every season of her life.
Who It's For
Matriarchy is for
women who...
There is a place for you here.
The Future of Matriarchy
This is only the beginning.
Matriarchy starts with an eight-week program, but the vision reaches far beyond those first eight weeks. We're building a future where women have more opportunities to connect, gather, grow and create their own village of support.
Imagine where this could go.
Local Programs
We deliver programs in your neighbourhood, usually within a 15-minute radius, run by your local matriarchs.
School Holiday Camps
For women wanting a more immersive experience, we'll hold camps over the school holiday period — bringing together women within a 1-hour radius to reconnect with themselves and each other.
The Matriarchy App
A digital space designed to make finding your village and staying connected easier than ever. We will incorporate what we do in a group setting into an online platform to make it more accessible for everyone.
The vision
From one gathering to a movement.

Acknowledgement of Country
Matriarchy acknowledges the Yuggera people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and gather. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
For countless generations, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have cared for this land, maintaining a deep and enduring connection to Country through their culture, knowledge, and traditions. We acknowledge and respect their continuing custodianship and the important contribution they make to our community today.
Code of Conduct
Our Community Agreement
Matriarchy only works if we build it together. Before you join us, we ask that you read and hold these principles close — they're what makes it possible to build genuine connection, support and community.
Here, we show up as ourselves. You don't need to have it together to belong here. Come as you are — tired, uncertain, joyful, messy. Authenticity is welcome.
Here, asking for help isn't weakness. It's strength. It's how communities survive. We ask you to practice this — both asking for support when you need it, and offering it to others.
We respect every life stage and every story. Whether you're a new mum, without children, further along in motherhood, or an elder in our community — your voice matters equally here. We learn from each other across every stage of life.
What's shared here, stays here. Real connection needs trust. Please treat what other women share in our sessions as confidential, unless they've told you otherwise.
We choose repair over rupture. Conflict and misunderstanding happen in any real community. When it does, we commit to approaching each other with curiosity and care, not blame — and working towards repair, together.
Children are part of this village, not separate from it. Kids are welcome in our spaces. We ask parents and carers to stay responsible for their own children's safety, while we all share in creating a village that welcomes them. Parents and carers please be considerate of where your children are at all times and be aware of the needs of other participants. We also ask that all participants are patient with, respectful and considerate of children and their parents/carers.
We honour rest as much as we honour connection. There's no pressure to perform, overshare, or be "on." Some weeks you'll show up ready to open up. Other weeks, just showing up is enough.
This is a village — not a service. Matriarchy isn't something that happens to you. It's something we build with each other, week by week, meal by meal, season by season.
By joining a Matriarchy program, you agree to hold these principles with us — and to help create a space every woman feels safe to call her village.
Please be aware we do not tolerate harassment in any form, and any person who violates these rules may be asked to leave.
If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible to us.
Please reach out to us if you have any questions, concerns or need help.
This Community Agreement works alongside our Terms & Conditions, which cover the more formal details of joining a program.
